I was added to a WhatsApp group claiming to provide stock market tips and guaranteed returns. They are showing screenshots of profits and asking members to invest. How can I verify whether this is genuine or a scam?

Guaranteed returns are a major red flag. Check whether the company is registered with financial regulators, avoid sending money to personal accounts, and verify reviews from independent sources. Most investment groups promising quick profits turn out to be fraudulent.

This is a common investment scam tactic. Fraudsters often use fake profit screenshots, testimonials, and promises of guaranteed returns to gain trust.

Before investing, verify whether the advisor or company is registered with SEBI. Be cautious if they pressure you to invest quickly or transfer money to personal accounts.

If something feels suspicious, avoid investing and report the group on WhatsApp. If money has already been transferred, contact your bank and report the incident to Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
