Someone claiming to be from CBI called me on WhatsApp. Is this genuine?

Today I received a WhatsApp video call from someone claiming to be a CBI officer. He showed an ID card and said my Aadhaar was linked to criminal activities. He told me not to disconnect the call and threatened legal action if I did not cooperate. Is this a legitimate investigation or a scam?

This is almost certainly a Digital Arrest scam. Law enforcement agencies do not conduct investigations over WhatsApp or demand payments to avoid arrest. Scammers use fear and fake identities to pressure victims into transferring money. Disconnect the call immediately and report the incident.
