      A buyer on OLX asked me to scan a QR code to receive payment for a product I was selling. After scanning it, money was deducted from my account instead of being credited. Is this a known scam?

        Yes. QR codes are generally used to make payments, not receive them. Scammers trick victims into scanning codes that authorize outgoing payments. Never scan a QR code if you are expecting to receive money.
