I searched online for a customer support number related to a courier company. The representative asked me to install a remote access app and share banking details. Is this normal customer service procedure?

No, this is not normal customer service procedure. Legitimate courier companies will never ask you to install remote access apps such as AnyDesk or TeamViewer, nor will they request your banking details, OTPs, or card information.

This is a common scam used to gain control of your device and access your bank account. Stop all communication immediately and contact the courier company through its official website or app.

If you shared any banking information, contact your bank and report the incident to Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
