Applied online for what looked like an official government job under “Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana.” They approved me and want Rs 1,500 as “registration fee.” The website looks official with a .gov.in domain. Should I pay?
Fake government job websites often mimic real URLs (watch for .org, .net instead of .gov.in). Legitimate government jobs NEVER charge registration fees. CHECK: Real schemes are listed on pib.gov.in, not random websites. DO THIS: Don’t pay, note the website URL, block communications, don’t fill in personal forms. CONTACT: Report the fake website at cybercrime.gov.in + file complaint with local cyber police mentioning the website domain name.
