Got WhatsApp message claiming to be from my child’s “school principal” saying my child used abusive language in the class group chat. Demanding Rs 5,000 as “disciplinary fine” via UPI. My child denies it.

Whom to Contact: FAKE SCHOOL EMERGENCY SCAM! Schools NEVER collect fines via WhatsApp or UPI. DO THIS: Call the school directly on their official number to verify, block the WhatsApp number. CONTACT: Report to cybercrime.gov.in + inform school’s official management + report the WhatsApp number.
