Called a number I found on Google for “HDFC bank support.” They asked me to download AnyDesk for “remote troubleshooting.” I shared the code and they took control of my phone. Within minutes, Rs 2 lakh was transferred out.
REMOTE ACCESS SCAM! Legitimate banks NEVER ask you to download remote access apps like AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or QuickSupport. EMERGENCY: Call your bank immediately to freeze your account, report unauthorized transfers. CONTACT: Report to cybercrime.gov.in + file FIR at local police + call 1930 immediately.
