I received an SMS claiming my parcel could not be delivered because of an incorrect address. The message contains a link asking me to pay ₹10 to update delivery details. I am expecting a package, so I’m unsure whether this is genuine. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, this is a very common courier scam. Fraudsters send fake delivery messages asking for a small payment to update an address or release a parcel.

Do not click the link or enter any payment or banking details. Instead, track your package through the courier company’s official website or app.

If you already clicked the link or made a payment, contact your bank immediately and report the incident to the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
