I found a ticket booking service online that promised confirmed railway tickets. The agent wants payment through a personal UPI account instead of the IRCTC portal. Is this safe?

This is a major red flag. Genuine railway ticket bookings should be made through the official IRCTC website, app, or authorized agents.

Be cautious if someone guarantees confirmed tickets and asks for payment to a personal UPI account. Scammers often use this tactic to collect money and disappear.

Do not make any payment until you verify the agent’s credentials. If you suspect fraud, report the incident to the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
