Found a flat listing on OLX for Rs 8,000/month in Pune. “Landlord” said he’s in Dubai and asked for 2-month advance via bank transfer before sending keys. Paid Rs 15,000. Now unreachable.
RENTAL ADVANCE SCAM! Never pay advance without physically visiting and verifying the property. Remote landlords asking for advance are a red flag. DO THIS: File a bank dispute immediately, report the listing to OLX, note all communication details. CONTACT: File FIR at local police + cybercrime.gov.in + report to OLX fraud team.
