Received official-looking email from “SEBI Legal Cell” saying my PAN was used to trade illegally and I must pay Rs 75,000 as penalty within 48 hours to avoid FIR. I’ve never traded stocks. Is this real?
FAKE SEBI SCAM! SEBI sends official notices via registered post or through SCORES portal — never via email demanding urgent payments. DO THIS: Don’t pay, don’t reply, check SEBI’s SCORES portal (scores.gov.in) for any actual notices against your PAN. CONTACT: Report to cybercrime.gov.in + SEBI complaint cell: 1800-266-7575 + local police.
