Saw viral Facebook post: “Apple giving away 1000 free iPhone 15s to celebrate 20M followers! Like, share, comment with your contact number.” Millions of likes/shares. Legit Apple giveaway?
FACEBOOK FAKE GIVEAWAY SCAM! Legitimate brands run giveaways through official channels with transparent rules, NOT by asking you to share and post your phone number publicly. Your number will be sold to scammers or used for spam/fraud. DO THIS: 1) Don’t share your number, 2) Report the post to Facebook as scam, 3) Block the account, 4) If you already shared—expect spam calls/SMS, consider blocking unknown numbers. CONTACT: Report to Facebook + Apple (on official site) to confirm it’s fake + cybercrime.gov.in if you get harassed calls.
