Got SMS from “ICICI Bank” saying my account is restricted due to suspicious login. Provided link. I clicked and entered my mobile number and OTP before realizing. The link grammar was slightly off. Did I compromise my account?
Scammers send fake SMS with malicious links that look like bank URLs. You gave them your OTP—your account IS at risk now. EMERGENCY STEPS: 1) Call your bank’s official number (on your card) IMMEDIATELY to inform them, 2) Change your mobile banking password, 3) Disable UPI temporarily or change UPI PIN, 4) Set transaction alerts, 5) Freeze your credit with CIBIL. CONTACT: Your bank’s fraud department + cybercrime.gov.in with the fake SMS screenshot + file FIR at local cyber police.
